The turf must withstand extreme stress, prevent injuries, and remain functional for many years. The RAL quality mark guarantees that sports surfaces meet the highest quality criteria, far exceeding the minimum legal standards and current DIN standards.

As a recognized, neutral testing laboratory, we play a crucial role within the RAL system as an independent third-party monitor for both core modules in modern sports field construction. We conduct on-site and laboratory inspections to ensure that the strict quality and testing requirements are fully complied with.

Our Testing Expertise in Two Modules

RAL Natural Turf Systems (RAL-GZ 946)

Quality assurance for genuine outdoor sports turf surfaces extends from the construction phase through long-term maintenance. As part of third-party monitoring, we conduct independent testing:

• Construction Module (RAL-GZ 946/1): Laboratory analyses of the composition of turf subbases, testing of water permeability, acceptance testing of individual layers, and evaluation of the seed and sod used.
• Maintenance & Upkeep Module (RAL-GZ 946/2): Verification of proper regeneration measures and mechanical treatments (e.g., sand application, aeration) to maintain the field’s functionality for sports.
